
A Hawai'i native, she was the owner of TL Promotes located on O'ahu, prior to relocating to California in 1992. While in Hawai'i she created and supervised public relations, promotions, and special event campaigns for a variety of advertising, retail, entertainment and travel industry clients including Peck Sims Mueller Advertising, Tom Moffatt Productions, Grand Chefs on Tour, and the Kula Bay Tropical Clothing Company. In addition, she also played a key roll in the development and promotion of special projects including the Hawaii Jazz Festival, Okinawan Music Festival and the Kalihi-Palama Summer Festival. Earlier in her career, she also worked as an account executive at a number of advertising agencies, including Ogilvy & Mather, where she managed both the Hyatt Regency Waikiki and Hyatt Regency Maui accounts.
Larrua is an alumnus of James B. Castle High School and the Ronald E. Bright Theatre. She has been able to take her experiences in choreography and performing arts and successfully blend them into various promotional projects in Hawaii including The Hawaii State Literacy Campaign "Read To Me," Recycle Hawaii Project, The Oceanic Keiki Club, The University of Hawaii Rainbow Dancers and Catholic Charities' Youth-At-Risk Program.
In Los Angeles, Larrua is very active in the culinary, visual and musical arts scene and was creator of several promotions including Arts 4375 held at The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey, in August 2003 showcasing established and emerging artists from the local community, and for 13 years produced the annual May Day in L.A. event, which perpetuated the Hawaiian culture and arts. Larrua is a member of PRSA (Public Relations Society of America), EPPS (Entertainment Professional Publicists Society), and a board member of The Virginia Avenue Project.
